Out of the hotel
We are happy to introduce you to the most remarkable landmarks of the city of Krakow which are at the same time not far away from our hotel:
• Krakow – the city listed at the UNESCO World Heritage Site – the former capital of Poland. It gives housing to a variety of remarkably well preserved monuments, such as: The Royal Castle and the Cathedral on Wawel Hill; Collegium Maius – the oldest Polish university; St. Mary`s Basilica with the world-renown medieval main altarpiece by Veit Stoss and the bugle call; the Main Square with the Cloth Hall, the leaning tower of the Town Hall and the florists.
• Wieliczka – another UNESCO World Heritage Site – the underground labyrinth of tunnels, corridors, workings and caverns inside the 700-year-old salt mine, where you can find wonders of nature and man-made ones: decorated chapels, salty lakes, collection of salty sculptures – a stunning and charming place
• Auschwitz and Birkenau – the former Nazi concentration camps of WWII. A grief-stricken and terrifying place of massive extermination. However extremely important for the understanding of the truth about humanity – UNESCO World Heritage Site.
• The National Park of Ojcow – the smallest in Poland but at the same time offering one of the largest number of floral and animal species living within the snow-white limestone rock formations and numerous caves. Within its limits there are the two fascinating landmarks – medieval castles known as “The Eagles` Nests”: Ojcow and Pieskowa Skala.
We recommend visiting more remote places, such as:
• Zakopane – “the capital” of the Tatra Mountains in Poland, a town with perfectly preserved local wooden architecture and art, customs, highlanders` traditional music and delicious food.
• Rafting down the Dunajec river gorge – seated in safe wooden rafts steered by traditionally dressed highlanders down the picturesque and rather gentle river.
• The trail of wooden architecture – UNESCO World Heritage Site – unique in Europe charming little wooden countryside parish churches, cottages, manors and huts scattered around villages and towns – of 15 th till 19 th century origin.
• Wisnicz, Debno, Pieskowa Skala, Niedzica – medieval castles and fortresses
On request we can arrange any type of tour based on tailor made itinerary.
